One of the
most popular OnTimeRx features is the persistent built-in snooze alarms. OnTimeRx will alarm at the scheduled dose time and every 15 minutes for 1 hour to remind the user that doses are due. If there's no response after 1 hour, the doses will be logged as missed.*
The OnTimeRx Log feature is important because it provides drug supply and compliance data, but it must
be accurate to be valid. The user can correct missed doses on the Log
in order to keep the remaining Days Supply value correct and maintain an
accurate compliance rate for individual drugs. In the spirit of full disclosure... We just discovered a glitch in the current v3.1 that prevents the accurate logging of any missed doses that roll-over past midnight.
If you're a "late night pill taker", you may have noticed this new little popup:
"Oops! Doses cannot be scheduled between 11:01pm and 11:59pm in the current version."
Why is this restriction necessary?
This is only a problem when doses that are scheduled between 11:01pm and 11:59pm are missed. What happens is this... Say a dose is scheduled for 11:30pm. The alarm would sound on one date, but if the dose is missed, it won't be logged correctly, because there's a date conflict after midnight. Admittedly, this is a quick workaround, but it will avoid the inaccurate logging issue.
Why don't we just fix it now?
As much as we'd like to, we hope this won't be an issue for very many users. In the meantime, we simply don't want to delay the release that long, because this requires some pretty complicated reprogramming.
What does it mean for those who do need to schedule meds during that time period?
On the slim chance that these late doses might be missed, users can schedule their last doses of the day at 11:00pm to avoid the potential roll-over Log/date conflict. (The Schedule screen is set to 11:00pm by default.) Or another option is to schedule those late doses at 12:00am, which also avoids this troublesome 59 minute period. That way any missed doses will be logged at 1:00am on the same date.
Either way will work for the interim.
As they say... "you can please all of the people some of the time..." We sincerely hope this workaround will be acceptable for some of the people for the time being.... at least until it's time to update the software again.
*The tried and tested OnTimeRx alarm and logging logic is patent pending.
