Here's the Good News!
OnTimeRx is available in Amazon App Store in 3 flavors - (2 are FREE and 1 is Paid).
As a little added bonus, we also learned that the reviewers tested OnTimeRx on the new Kindle Fire. At first they approved it for sale on that platform as well. Very cool indeed!
Now for some slightly less-than-good news! After further testing, they declared it was incompatible for use on the Fire.
While our alarms work fine on the Fire, it was not developed for the awesome 7" screen, and some of the data entry screens are a little skewed and a bit hard to read. Also there's a problem with waking the device up to display our alarm screen. When you hear the alarm sound, you have to unlock it before the alarm screen displays. Not an optimal user experience.
Loyal OnTimeRx users, who know their way around all of our time-tested features, can fairly easily set up a medication schedule... almost with their eyes closed! As mentioned, the old reliable alarm feature works just fine. The smaller displays and truncated labels are annoying but not a huge problem.
The 7" screen format is very nice for older eyes that may have problems using apps on smaller cell phones. For folks who have never used OnTimeRx before, it may pose a few more problems. Everyone needs to know when it's time to take some pills, especially when they're in the middle of a totally engrossing eBook from the Amazon Kindle Store!!!
Some of you may remember the days when a simple Palm or PocketPC PDA sold for $299. Well, the Kindle Fire makes a very affordable pill reminder device and it can do sooooo much more than a PDA. It's currently priced at $199 brand new... $169 refurb, which is a real DEAL!
Future plans: While we fully intend to optimize OnTimeRx for the tablet format so that more people can benefit from our medication reminders (without tech support), we do not have a projected time line for this device-specific upgrade. In the meantime, we're always more than happy to work with any individual who contacts our tech support for assistance.
So for all you long-time OnTimeRx users with a Kindle Fire, look for
